LSU coach Les Miles was all smiles, offensive coordinator Cam Cameron was working closely with the quarterback and defensive coordinator John Chavis was blistering every defender within earshot. What wasn't blistering was the weather, on the cool side with low humidity as the Tigers embark on preparations for the 2014 season. The team will go through split squad practices the first four days of camp. Sophomore quarterback Anthony Jennings , who is in a battle with freshman Brandon Harris for the starting job, was the only scholarship quarterback on the field. Heralded running back Leonard Fournette was not among the morning practice running backs. He will apparently work out in the afternoon session with Harris and the rest of the squad.

Its awesome because you get the mental discipline of pacing (build over 2 minsdont just blast out of the gate) and the physiological benefit of threshold work without going above threshold (so your legs shouldnt be trashed the next day). Warm-up 15 min easy, including a few 3045 sec pickups. End warm-up at a hill with 24% grade (not too steep). Main Set 610 x 2 min hard but not all-out pace. Build to threshold (or just more information above) but do no over-run!
